Just。。。indifference。 No love。 No hate。The one thing I did dislike strongly was that there is only one lead female character （besides the Pauline subplot， and of course there's Calantha， but none of that was adequate）。 I think stories with only one female lead can be done well and be okay， and I've liked many， so that wasn't my problem。 My /problem/ was the fact that EVERY SINGLE MALE in the whole story was obsessed with her。 Literally。 Also if we didn't get Kaden's POV， I'd like him a LOT less。 Just。。。indifference。 No love。 No hate。The one thing I did dislike strongly was that there is only one lead female character （besides the Pauline subplot， and of course there's Calantha， but none of that was adequate）。 I think stories with only one female lead can be done well and be okay， and I've liked many， so that wasn't my problem。 My /problem/ was the fact that EVERY SINGLE MALE in the whole story was obsessed with her。 Literally。 Also if we didn't get Kaden's POV， I'd like him a LOT less。 3 stars？ I guess？ 。。。more

3。5/5 ⭐️I feel like I’m in the minority here， but I didn’t enjoy the second book in this series as much as the first one。 The world building and the plot was explored more in this sequel， but it felt so much like a filler book to me and I felt like not at a lot was happening。 The end of the book was exciting though， and I’m really excited to see how this story ends with the third book！

Ok。 This ridiculous love triangle has got to go 🙅🏻♀️ If she doesn’t stay with Rafe at the end of all this I’m going to be so mad。 I don’t want Kaden taking Rafe’s place。 I HATE love triangles。 It’s nice to see that Lia’s heart hasn’t wavered from him yet though！

*sigh* Lia keeps secrets about as well as a sieve。 I don’t remember her coming across as so。。。 conceited in the first book。 But she embodies a lot of really cringy Chosen One tropes。 And everything is melodramatic “and so shall it be forevermore”， prophecy blah blah。。。Also the way she continues to play Rafe and Caden is a bad look。Literally the last 3% convinced me to continue to book 3。 Here’s hoping it’s worth it。
